Better than this (freestyle)

Look into my eyes, and tell me what you think of me,

tell me what you’re thinking

Hear the things that I have done for others, and I can do for you,

What are you thinking?

Time is running out, time is passing everybody by

But time keeps going, it won’t stop for you

But if the time could stop, and everything would cease to move

Would you want it to be like that?

Would you want time to stop, so you could think about your life

And all the choices you have made

Would you remake those choices into something…different

Maybe something that could be much better

What could be better than this?

What could be better than anything that’s ever happened in your life

What could be better than you?

What could be better than me?

What could be better that, what could be much better…?

You should stop and look at yourself for a minute

Look at everyone around you

Now I see you and you can hear my voice, you’re sitting in my corner

And I’m so glad that I have found you…

Has anybody ever found you and tried to change you

And make you be like them?

Who would you be like if you could be like anybody out there?

Would you be like them?

Is there someone you would wish to emulate and try to style your life after?

What about me, and what about all of your family?

Do you think that you’re so successful in your palace on the hill

Am I successful? How do you judge success, you have no measure!

Am I a measure? Can it be the weather? Whether or not I don’t know…

Look at the drums and look at the shed and look at the timing…

Is my timing so good?

Is it my timing,

Or my rhyming,

Or my lyrical styling?

Do you flow power through your heart like you flow power through that socket

On the wall

And is the blood in your veins contaminated with something so sour

Like a sour ball

Flip on the switches on the controls of your mind

Flip them right on and leave them on all of the time

Do you know what you’re doing, or do you just space through your day

Think about what you’re doing every single day…
