butterfly

My dear, you’re like a butterfly

Your soul so free of sin

But like the butterfly, once touched

You’ll never fly again

So many things are new to you

You thought you’d never try

You gave up your ability

To soar into the sky

My dear you’re like the others now

You’re tarnished yet you grin

You laugh and pull my wings apart

still innocent within
