she tries to break and bend the rules
by whipping out old prose
she can't fool me by doing that
as everybody knows

it has to be spontaneous
it has to be intense
you can't just toss out things you wrote
'cause that would make no sense

see i don't have the luxury
of sending you past tries
of striking pure poetic gold
i have to improvise!
