the lady from darwingate

sometimes when she
looks at you
her eyes, they
seem to narrow
she seems to see
right through your soul
digs right into
your marrow
pretends to be
self-deprecating
acts like she's
not tough
but that facade
hides confidence
she's powerful
enough
it's true, she isn't
like the rest
she feels she
can't belong
she longs for
distant, foreign lands
she thinks this
place is wrong
but don't be fooled
by how she acts
she isn't made of
stone
she'll always
seek another's touch
she hates to be
alone
