it must be nice   [lyrics]

I think this song sounds a lot like a traditional folk song.  Though all my songs are relatively simple, this one is one of the absolute simplest.  The lyrics are also deceptively low-key, and aside from the word complacent, the words are all words a third-grader would probably be familiar with.

As for the burning question of who this song is really about, I don't have an answer.  A few people have told me they think it's about them, but I don't think so.  It might have been about me, living in relative isolation in my underground bunker, but I'd like to think I don't take it to the level represented in the lyrics.

Either way, it's got kind of a sad feel to it.  In my experience, the criticisms that leave you feeling the worst aren't shouted, don't contain obscenities, and never come from your enemies.
