jobe's theme song (info)
So why would a race of superbeings care about Earth? It seems certain characters were tinkering with the entire space-time continuum and that destroying the universe would severely restrict the Jobian homeworld's access to fresh dark matter to power their planet.
To combat this threat from Earth, they had to construct a task force of robots (their bodies can't handle the gravity and time flow inside the actual universe) with the coded memories of elite fighters. Jobe was the 13th of these robots, a non-fighter whose sole purpose was to push the self-destruct button on his watch if things got hairy and to decimate the town containing the offenders.
Instead of killing everyone, he becomes our savior, our hero, the only chance we have in the battle against these twelve robotic automatons.
You'll notice all the references to his planet and spaceship and culture contain the word 'Jobian' as their descriptor. This is because there are no words in the Jobian language, and the only reference point we can really use when discussing these beings is that Jobe is a robot who used to be one of them.
