07.07.07/11:45  narita something matsuri/tanabata

Vega and Altair may still be separated by a giant, flowing Milky Way river, but at least now they can talk via the internet.  It's been a busy weekend, but I survived it relatively intact.

Saturday night was Narita's Nan-to-ka Matsuri.  Celebrating what, I don't know, but people were returning even as far as the K2D wearing kimono and carrying balloons.

We didn't actually make it to the matsuri.  We got there just as it was closing and met our Narita counterparts and headed to the Jet Lag Club in Narita, which may be the worst bar I've ever been to for two reasons:

1.  No smoking inside (?!?!)

2.  A Long Island containing all of the alcohol and none of the coke/sweet n' sour/ other ingredients that make it drinkable.

In short, I was happy to get out of there pretty quick, even if it was only to hit the Barge Inn.  I should clarify something here; I DON'T LIKE NARITA.  Not even a little.  The gaijin there are not friendly, and because of this, the locals don't like foreigners, and one even cursed at me in passing in Japanese.  I didn't kill him, though.  I'm zen.

There was dancing and gin and karaoke and red wine and half a sausage mcmuffin triumphantly returning on the floor of my shower and then 12 hours of sleeping and sleeping and sleeping.

But none of this has anything to do with the picture, does it?  That was last weekend.  One of my friends got a new job, so we went to Red Lobster to celebrate.  Yeah, it was goooood.  I likes me some lobster, even though we saw it when it was alive, and then a few minutes later, it wasn't...kind of sad...and delicious.

And...June?  It's archived.  If you missed my excellent post about Ice Cucumber Pepsi, you should go check it out.  There was going to be more to this post, but it got lost in the mix.  You know how that goes.
