The world needs more love songs about space travel.  I think it was two years ago, maybe 2am, when I was watching Cowboy Bebop, thinking about Spike's futile journey through space searching for his beloved Julia when it hit me: I need to write a song and call it 'Neptune Afternoon!'

So I did.  This song is about determination.  It's about being dauntless in your pursuit of love. 

You might wonder why a song with such a positive message that I believe in so strongly has an unhappy ending.  An ending where the protagonist suffocates in some desolate region of space.  It's because there is no girl waiting for him.  He's chasing an illusion across the galaxy, and so he ends up with one, ultimately achieving his goal in the only way possible.

The best place to meet the girl of your dreams is, of course, in your dreams.
