9.22.06/15:42 and some other stuff Thanks to Mr. Briggs at bbspot.com for putting up my article about the PS4, good times all around. If you're not familiar with that site, I suggest you give it a spin. That, however, is not the purpose of this post. The purpose of this post is to put up a few short tracks from the Daikon Warrior Game Soundtrack, entitled: The Daikon Warrior Soundtrack: Music from the Game, Daikon Warrior.
[daikon warrior theme] .mp3 file
This is a sturdy song, one with capo 3 and a classical feel, something to get you excited about the game. It's a short song, a theme, filled with the promise of a new day and the hope that good might triumph once again over evil...but it can't do so without your help!
[meister battle theme] .mp3 file
This is the theme that plays when you battle any of the six Meisters, (KnifeMeister, FlameMeister, etc.) those territorial bosses whom you can choose to defeat to unlock the secret hidden secret of Pocalypse Shrine and treasures galore. Are you up to the challenge?
[normal battle theme] .mp3 file
This is the theme that plays during normal monster battles, which if you've ever played an RPG = 1000's of repetitive battles. This game is no different! Prepare to hate this song with a passion, a passion that can only be achieved by hearing it ad infinitum. 9.19.06/02:50 this thing called myspace
Of course, as a reader of this site, you're more than welcome to be my friend. We don't have that awkward foreplay of a soiled high school history, and it's more than likely you didn't come to my room after school one day only to use your demure left hand to soil my drawers, or have your face messed on, or to lose at Gran Turismo.
9.11.06/05:43 i got nothin' It's true. Not a word. It's almost 6 in the morning and I've been awake for two hours. I fell asleep a little before 10, effectively missing both chances to see the new Venture Brothers. So it goes. I might have to try and do that internet downloady thingy so I can stay in the loop.
Summer has died and gone away.
And it's sad. Every summer is going to be the one where I take the bike out to the trails, where I start playing shows, where I finally have the time to write that novel that's been kicking around inside my head for who knows how long. But I guess this summer wasn't it, either.
The game is agonizingly close to being done. Really. Truly. But still miles and miles away. Once it's done, I can picture all the other far more useful things I can devote my time to: songwriting, this comic book thing, defecating like a champion, etc. But we're not there yet.
Speaking of champions...I'll be right back.
[pause of roughly seventeen minutes]
Right. So I'm feeling restless, road-trippy, half-out of my gourd. Something needs to happen. Something needs to happen. In the meantime, you'll find me somewhere around this computer, probably chain-smoking and eating beef jerky. 9.5.06/05:18 drums of war This thing called September is in full swing. Car is fixed, room looks good, and there's still lots of homework involved with the GEOS thing. Tomorrow (today?) I hope to send out my packet, and to call and find out my due dates for correspondence training. Nothing like unpaid work.
Yeah, as if you can't tell it's still all I do every day. The basic world map is done, and anything I add now is just extra. I made a bunch of treasure boxes today, like 30 or something, and placed them all around the world. Each one requires a switch and text and some other stuff to make it function. I never realized how much making games sucks.
I'll probably make a similar graphic for the villains whenever I get the motivation. And in other exciting news, I've got a rough version of the Daikon Warrior Theme! Probably I will track that soon and put it up so everyone can enjoy it. The everyone in that sentence involves you, me, and like four other people, by the way. Four AWESOME people.
And I had a very very strange dream last night. I was walking next to a traffic jam on an interstate, then I hopped across the median and got into this car. All of a sudden I noticed the choppers and military envoys chasing us and realized we were in the opposing lane of traffic and there was a nuclear warhead in the backseat. Somehow I got out of the car and went to a safehouse and this girl showed up. She gave me a book of matches that said 'Awesome Great' and I knew she was a member of the resistance. Then I went outside and got captured and woke up. Awesome Great? Weird... 8.30.06/03:38 a day of transition... Edgar is back in the basement!! It should be self-evident, just from the fact that there's a new post up, but I just wanted to make sure everybody understood the implications. I thought maybe, in my naiveté, that the other computer would have the capabilities to post, but it turns out that I was wrong. Thinkpad is just too old for that.
And most of the stuff has been returned to the new-and-improved dungeon I call a home. As an added bonus, most of it has been cleaned and dusted as well. Fantastic.
I also have some very big news for you...very big news indeed. My target date for leaving the country is sometime around December 6. Quinn and I took a road trip to Toronto, along with the girlfriend, and we interviewed with GEOS, and were lucky enough to land jobs with them. Many thanks to Naoko Sensei and some of the cool people we met there. So...friends in Japan, we will be seeing each other soon.
I kind of thought that if I stopped posting, readership would just sort of, I don't know...die down? But it hasn't. It's kind of an interesting suspense-building technique with everyone anxiously wondering, 'Will this be the day? Well, will it? Will he FINALLY put some new stuff up?'
Turns out that it is that day. That day is today.
Since we didn't really get to have posts in August, I think I will tack these two posts on to September, a thing which has been done in the past when similar fates have befallen the comics of peachy. And a select few of you may be wondering about the GAME. Or not. But if you are, it's coming along smashingly, as the screenshots should tell you better than I. 8.4.06/14:37 stinking offal
But not just any water! Sewage. Yes, delightful little poops and tissues floating in said water that managed to seep under the carpet on the far side of my room. You may wonder what the resolution of such a problem requires, and I will tell you.
The carpet must first be torn up. Then, the concrete must be scrubbed with bleach, then a new carpet must be laid down. Anything sitting on said carpet which soaked through in any way must be thrown away. For me, this included a fairly decent guitar case, a bed I never used, and a dresser which managed to absorb an impressive amount.
But I'm not trying to bum you out. In fact, I will tell you about something that isn't shit: The New Civil War Adventure Band. Nate is a member of said band, along with two other guys whose names I think are Rob and Bob. They do shows in Akron if you're interested. I've been listening to the songs posted at the above link, and really really digging them, especially Brenda.
That was probably a good preface for a story about my trip to Kent, OH earlier this week. It involved beer, margaritas, giant cardboard cutouts of semi-famous athletes, lighter fluid, some guy's yard, and not running. I can't take credit for any of that except as a bystander, but it was fairly interesting. We should've run. Also: July posts, archives. |
