This is kind of an anomaly when you compare it to the rest of the songs.  It was my first experiment in capo 3 and you might say the rest of the songs on this album were facilitated by this song.

It's an anomaly not because it's depressing (they're all kind of depressing, aren't they?), but because of the ridiculous amount of cliché lines included in the lyrics, some examples being:

frozen to the bone

without you by my side

I'm on the right track

Wow, phrased properly that becomes a haiku.  The reason I chose to put all those trite phrases in this song (sometimes I do it unintentionally as well, and I'm not proud of that, either) is to show how universal loss is.  Everybody uses those stupid expressions, just like everybody loses people who are close to them.

Sometimes the hardest losses to deal with are the unexpected ones.
