I am sick of receiving dirty looks from vegetarians whenever I am eating something made out of dead animals.  I admit, slaughtering a nearly helpless little animal and eating its remains is a pretty barbaric practice, but hey, it's the food chain.

Furthermore, vegetarians are a pretty sketchy group to begin with.  There are so many different classifications of those pesky vegetites: vegans, vegetarians who somehow justify eating fish, vegetarians who drink milk...where do you draw the line?

That brings up another thing I don't understand.  What exactly is it about fish that makes them NOT an animal and makes their hunger-based killing less profound than say, killing a chicken?  Is it because they are aquatic?  I see this as discrimination.

I submit this to you:  eating vegetables is MORE morally offensive than eating animals.  You say vegetables feel no pain...how do you know this?  Any animal has a chance, no matter how small, to escape and be free because they are ANIMATE.  You people approach these innocent vegetables and pluck them right from their own homes, sometimes eating them right in front of their parent trees.  What chance does a tomato have of escaping your gluttonous grasp?

Being a vegetarian is the moral equivalent of beating a paraplegic person to death and eating their carcass, with their family watching.

Despite this, I am still upset by the mass consumption of beef and chicken-based products the fast food industry promotes.  Nobody thinks about the chickens and cows which gave their lives to satiate us.  I propose no adults should be allowed to eat animals without first having to kill one, skin it, and cook it.  This would give people a greater appreciation for the actual cruelness involved in the whole process.  If you are too timid to do this, you don't deserve to eat meat.

So in case you are wondering where exactly I stand on this issue, due to my arguments for both sides, I suggest this:  the most ethical and humane thing you can do after reading this article is stop eating all together.  You will die from starvation, but at least you will be enlightened.
